Our fantastic families
This week we will be continuing our 'Marvellous Me' topic with the focus on our families and what makes them special. Our key text is 'When Grandma comes to stay". Through our Literacy lessons we will explore what makes our families special and special times we have shared with our families. Some of our keywords this week are ‘family’, ‘community’ and ‘special’. We will encourage children to use these words during literacy when speaking in a full sentence. At home you can help your child by using the keywords in a sentence and talking about members of your family. During our daily story time we will read books around the theme families such as Monkey Puzzle and Mr Large in charge.
During phonics we will start phase 2 and incorporate aspects of the listening skills needed from phase 1. We will be looking at the letters ‘s’ , ‘a’, 'p' and 't'. In Maths we will be exploring counting using 1-1 correspondence using a five frame.
Forest school has started and children will need to keep their wellington boots in school in a named bag.
